The Art of Naming My Scrunchies

Wanna know the art of naming my scrunchies?

Lol just kidding, its not an art 😂 I just choose what comes to mind.

So, here goes the story. A week before Christmas arrives, I get this really cool idea right; make blind bags with my scrunchies! It’s the perfect quick gift that is simple yet small for giving to multiple people. Throw a couple scrunchies into a goodie bag for classmates, teachers, coworkers, or gift them as lil stocking stuffer’s. Should have thought of it sooner but oh well.

As I packed a couple of these blind bags that customers had ordered, it got me thinking of my favorite prints and how the heck I even came about the naming them. Out of the 50+ scrunchies I have right now, here’s the deets on a few…

Ānuenue Alani:

She is probably my favorite out of them all. It gives soft, cute girl vibes. Nothing too special on the name itʻs pretty straight forward.

Figgy:

Not sure how I came to name her. Maybe the print looked like the inside of a fig or perhaps I was eating a Fig Newton at the time.

Cheetah:

Do I need to explain? She definitely in my top 5 faves. Rawwr

Twylah:

I was most probably into Schitt's Creek at time, and she gave me Twylah vibes. It’s also a cool name in general that I rarely come across.

Mickey:

Just posting this for funsies. Such a simple design that was the perfect scale for something as small as a scrunchie. These cute yet simple designs, tiny enough for small projects are kinda hard to come by.  The fabric was a little stiff though so Im glad that one got put to rest.

Wally:

Just sounded cool plus my little cousin had the "little kid" accent at the time and would call watermelon "wallamelon".

Rosetta:

Nooo, not because of the language program. My sister was into Tinker Bell at the time and since Rosetta is the garden-ish fairy that takes care of the flowers, I blessed her with this name.

Athena:

This flower, leaf thingamabob design reminded me of what the Greeks might wear on their head. Maybe like an olive leaf branch type thing idk. But nevertheless, these gave me Athena goddess vibes hence the name.

I think the more interesting thing to me is the fact that I can remember who is who. Not sure how I managed this capability, but when I pack orders, I refer to each scrunchie by their first name lol. I must admit that from time to time I do mix them up especially the floral ones.

Today was a good day in the scrunchie world. I was blessed to package a total of 100 scrunchies! The other day I packaged a total of 15. My scrunchies used to live in two different containers but now I can finally condense them into one. Such a space saver 💙 Mahalo nui and until next blog post!
